Immerse yourself in 2 days of relaxed, fun French—perfect for elementary learners!

A mix of Franglais & easy French, designed to help you gain confidence while enjoying real-life experiences in a French-speaking environment.

You’ll explore Manly and Mona Vale, discovering local history, art, and gastronomy through guided experiences, all in the company of fellow French learners and expert instructors from French à la Carte. With small-group classes, hands-on workshops led by native French professionals, and meals in authentic French restaurants, this immersion is the perfect blend of learning and leisure.

Whether you're looking to improve your conversational skills, gain cultural insights, or simply experience the joy of speaking French in real-life settings, this immersion promises to be enriching, fun, and unforgettable!

What is a French à la Carte Immersion?

A French à la Carte immersion is a unique experience designed to fully engage participants in the French language and culture.

Over the course of three days, you will be surrounded by French conversation, guided activities, and hands-on experiences that enhance your fluency and confidence.

This immersion is conducted mainly in French and is best suited for participants with an Elementary - A2 level, ensuring a truly enriching linguistic and cultural journey.

PROGRAMME

DAY 1 – Tuesday 8 April - MONA VALE

9am | Icebreaker Café & French Class

Start your immersion experience with a friendly coffee session to get to know your fellow participants and a cultural class warm up your French conversation skills.

11.30am | Crêpes Workshop with French Kiss Crêperie

Learn how to make crêpes à la française, et en français ! Learn the technique to make the prefect crêpes, choose your favourite topings, make your own galette and crêpe and eat your creation for lunch!

2pm | Walk, Games & Conversation in French

4:30pm | Fun Wine Tasting Trivia with Pierre from Stay N Sip

Enjoy an interactive wine-tasting experience with a fun trivia component, discovering French wines in a relaxed atmosphere.

7pm | Dinner at La Bouitte in North Willoughby

Savor a refined three-course French dinner with multiple entrées, mains, and dessert choices.

DAY 2 – Wednesday 9 April - MANLY

9am | Chat & Coffee

Warm up your brain with coffee & conversation in French.

10am-12pm | Guided Walk with Véronique

Discover Manly and the Northern Beaches’ rich history and stunning coastal landscapes through a guided walk in French. Starting from the old Manly Town Hall, we will explore Fairlight, Eastern Hill, The Bower, and loop back to the Corso and Manly Beach while learning many interesting facts and anecdotes about the presence of French people and culture in this part of Sydney. 

Lunch  | Free Time

Choose from many of the cafés and restaurants available in Manly's Corso -- including a French crêperie!

2pm | French Art Class

Join us for an exclusive painting workshop at Paint in French studio in Manly! Inspired by iconic French artists, this immersive session includes a guided presentation by Corinne of one French painter, followed by a hands-on acrylic painting session. Each participant will create their own masterpiece to take home. No art experience needed, pas de panique ! 

6pm | Apéritif at a local Manly bar

Unwind with a pre-dinner drink in a relaxed atmosphere

7pm | Dinner at Hemingway’s in Manly

Enjoy a delicious dinner of shared entrées, main courses, and desserts at this charming French bistro by the sea. Our favorite restaurant on the Beaches!

Transportation

To make travel easy and convenient, a minivan service will provide daily pick-ups and drop-offs at two meeting points: St Ives, because many of our students live in this area) & Manly.
This allows participants to relax and fully enjoy their immersion experience without the hassle of transportation logistics.

Accommodation

French à la Carte will not organise accommodation for this immersion, as many participants are based in Sydney or have local connections.
However, for those seeking accommodation, we highly recommend Manly Pacific Hotel for its amazing location and stunning ocean views.
